WHY CATHOLIC FAQ

I did not participate in the first Why Catholic program during Lent.  Can I still join the Fall 2008 program?

Yes!    Attendance at the first session is not a requirement to attend the Fall 2008 session.

I did participate in the first program.  Do I have to stay with the same group?

When you sign up for this Fall’s program, you can choose to stay with the same group, or you can change the group or the day of the week you attend.  Your participation is important!

I’ve never participated in anything like this before, and I’m not sure what to expect or what’s expected of me!

We’re all in this together, helping each other grow in our faith.  Your group will have a facilitator who will guide the sessions and who will give you all the information you need to fully participate.  There is also a book which provides a complete outline for each session, including the readings and information to help you better understand the teachings of our faith.

What is the cost of this program?

There is no cost to participate in Why Catholic?  We do ask for a voluntary contribution of $10 to cover the expense to the Church for the workbook.  We encourage you to visit the All Saints Gift Shop to purchase the Catechism of the Catholic Church if you do not already have one.

The book contains twelve faith-sharing sessions, corresponding to Part One of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Part One of the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults.

(If you attended the first Why Catholic? session you used this book for discussions on Chapters 7 through 12.  This same book will be used for the Fall 2008 session to cover Chapters 1 through 6.)

This first book in the Why Catholic? Series from RENEW International

bullet looks at the truths that we, as Catholics, believe
bullet offers the opportunity to explore these basic tenets of our faith
bullet is structured around what the Catechism calls “the oldest Roman Catechism,” namely, the Apostles’ Creed.
